Good Neighbours Scheme
Our good neighbours are volunteers who would love to come and visit you in your home or help you to get out and about. If you are aged 60 or over then either our Kilburn Good Neighbours scheme or Primrose Hill Neighbours Help may be just what you are looking for. We take our lead from you and will match you with someone who can visit as often or as little as you’d like. Our volunteers come from all walks of life, just like the people we visit.
Primrose Hill Neighbours Help offers befriending visits as well as advice and IT supports for locals aged 60+. We can offer DIY, gardening and do small jobs about the house that you are no longer able to do. If you enjoy a get together, you are also very welcome to come to one of our social events for all our members.
Kilburn Good Neighbours offers similar visits from a friendly face, with volunteers offering practical assistance at home. Our volunteers love to sit down and have a chat over a cup of tea and to hear about how you are getting on too.
Kilburn Good Neighbours has over 40 volunteers and they tell us that they look forward to seeing our members as much as you enjoy the visits.
For those of you who want less support we also have a small team of ‘drop in’ volunteers who can pop by for 15-20 minutes in their lunch hour or on their way home from work. You can ask them to drop in a pint of milk or magazine if getting out is difficult for you.
If you would like to receive visits from a good neighbour please contact Joanna on 0207 604 4823 to find out how to become a member.
We are also always on the look out for new volunteers to take part in this supportive befriending programme. If you would like to find out more about the role of becoming a befriender volunteer, we would love to hear from you. Feel free to have a chat with Joanna on 0207 604 4823 or drop her an email firstname.lastname@example.org to find out more about the role and to apply.
